On September 14th, the Under Secretary for Nuclear Security and NNSA Administrator Jill Hruby was awarded with the Nuclear Science Week 2022 Nuclear Lifetime Achievement Award at the University of Michigan. During her visit to Ann Arbor, the College of Engineering hosted several laboratory tours, including the Detection for Nuclear Nonproliferation Group (DNNG) Laboratory. The DNNG students showed their research in particle imaging in augmented reality, organic glass scintillators, and active interrogation; they spoke about their collaborations with the national laboratory partners, made possible by funding through the Consortium for Monitoring, Technology, and Verification, and had an insightful conversation with Administrator Hruby. We are grateful she visited the University of Michigan and look forward to our continued collaboration!
