Prof. Sara Pozzi Professorship Events: October 2-3, 2025

The University of Michigan Board of Regents has approved the appointment of Sara A. Pozzi as the Donald C. Graham Professor of Engineering, effective March 1, 2025.

Prof. Pozzi is internationally recognized for her pioneering work in radiation detection systems, particularly in relation to nuclear security. Her research has not only influenced national policy but has also fostered significant international partnerships. Beyond her scholarly accomplishments, she is a devoted educator and mentor, having guided 30 PhD students and trained numerous master’s and undergraduate students as well as postdoctoral scholars.

The Donald C. Graham Professorship of Engineering is one of Michigan Engineering’s prestigious named professorships, honoring faculty for exceptional contributions to their disciplines, leadership within the university, and service to the broader scientific and engineering communities. Donald C. Graham has championed educational, environmental, and cultural causes across the country and founded U-M’s Graham Sustainability Institute—a testament to his legacy of innovation, leadership, and service.

Celebratory events will be held on campus October 2–3, 2025, by invitation only.
